As one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in China, Southeast University (SEU) was founded as Sanjiang Normal College and later evolved as Liangjiang Normal College, Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University, and National Central University (NCU). After the liberation, the renowned NCU evolved as Nanjing Institute of Technology and was later renamed Southeast University, continuing the glorious chapter. Over the past 120 years, SEU has a deep-seated commitment to education and has cultivated numerous talents. SEU’s teaching standards and scientific research have been continuously evolving with the social and economic advancements of China and are tied to the needs of a continually changing world.
Since its founding in 1902, SEU has adhered to the motto of “strive for perfection” through its pursuit of “being renowned for science and serving the country with talents”. SEU has cultivated a great number of professionals, who have played leading roles in serving the country and the community, during this glorious century-long journey.
In reflecting on the many outstanding achievements of the past and using this experience to inform our future, SEU will be launching a series of events to celebrate the 120th anniversary in 2022 and the anniversary celebration ceremony will be held on June 6th 2022 in the ancient capital Nanjing. We look forward to having alumni and friends from home and abroad to join us in this celebration as well as your continued support in the years ahead.
