It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the Second International Conference on Basalt Fibers and Composites (ICBFC-2022), which will be held in an online platform in Nanjing China from Nov 9 to 11, 2022.

This conference aims at bringing together eminent scholars and researchers with long-range and broad vision in the field of Basalt Fibers and BFRPs who have carried out research in the development and utilization of BF for durable, light-weight, high-performance and functional structures, and other relevant and emerging applications, from around the globe. This conference provides an international platform to address the above issues, and to define How to Create a Visible Presence and Voice for the BF Research and Development Community.

Scope and Objectives

Basalt fiber (BF), as one of the newest fiber materials, has attracted a lot of attention from academia and industry because of its cost performance and environment-friendly characteristics compared with other fibers. Especially in the last decade, the promotion of basalt fibers and their reinforced composites (BFRP) in terms of research and development and application areas has made remarkable achievements, including:

1.The commissioning and operation of several basalt fiber production companies;

2.The official establishment of the International Society for Basalt Fibers and their Composites (ISBFC) in 2021, which became a milestone event to promote the development and application of basalt fiber industry.;

The 2nd ICBFC Conference (ICBFC-2022 for short) will be held in Nanjing and Dazhou from November 9-11, 2022, with the theme of Looking into the Next Decade of BF and BFRP. The conference aims to bring together experts, scholars and engineers in the field of BF and BFRP from around the world to discuss the future research directions of BF and BFRP as well as the application prospects of BF and BFRP in different fields.

Considering the impact of the new crown epidemic, the conference will be conducted in a combination of online and on-site, with the main on-site venue in Dazhou and an online venue (Zoom conference system) in Nanjing. In addition, the conference includes a visit to the basalt fiber new material industrial park in Dazhou, and the inauguration ceremony of the Sichuan Basalt Fiber Industry Alliance.

玄武岩纤维（BF）作为最新型的纤维材料之一，其性价比和环保特性相对于其他纤维相比具有显著优势，引起了学术界和工业界的广泛关注，特别是近十年来，玄武岩纤维及其增强复合材料（BFRP）在研发方面和应用推广取得了令人瞩目的成就，其中包括：多家玄武岩纤维生产企业的投产运营，2021年国际玄武岩纤维及其复合材料学会（ISBFC）的正式成立，ISBFC的成立成为推动玄武岩纤维产业发展与应用的里程碑事件。

第二届ICBFC会议（简称ICBFC-2022）将于2022年11月9日-11日在南京与达州举行，主题为展望BF及BFRP的未来十年，旨在汇聚全球各地BF及BFRP领域的专家学者及工程技术人员，探讨BF和BFRP未来研究方向及BF和BFRP在不同领域的应用前景。

受新冠肺炎疫情的影响，本次会议将采用线上线下相结合的方式开展，其中线下主会场在达州，南京设线上会场（Zoom会议系统）。此外，本次会议包括达州玄武岩纤维新材料产业园的参观活动，和四川省玄纤产业联盟的揭牌仪式。
